Never say you can't do something until you've tried — a career built on exactly that.
My story
My career has been long and diverse since I left high school at 15. My journey in tourism and hospitality truly began in Western Australia in 1980 as the franchisee of a chain of restaurants. Following a change in personal circumstances, I pivoted by enrolling in TAFE's Tour Guide course for the America's Cup — the start of a whole new chapter.
From there I took on roles across tourism and hospitality: Professional Conference Organiser, inbound tour operator, General Manager of a coach company, restaurant manager, ATEC WA Branch Manager, and managing partner of a 50-acre retreat in Toodyay.
Each transition drew on transferable skills, and I relished every challenge. I firmly believe you should never say you can't do something until you've tried.
How I help
Over the last 40 years I've helped people in their tourism careers by simply listening, providing guidance and connections — and sometimes just giving them the confidence to pursue their dream.
Why I mentor
I find joy in helping others succeed. Mentoring is a two-way street — I learn as much from them as they do from me.
